The war in Iraq-- is it accomplishing ANYTHING?
I'd like to know how many people are sick of seeing daily reports of car bombs and suicide bombs killing our American soldiers? And for.? I don't understand why we should want to help a country and a people who so obviously HATE America. I can't see how this is fighting terrorism, to increase the Middle East's animosity towards our country. I know many people try to blanket not supporting the war or the president's decisions with being "anti-American" or "anti-military", but I want our military to be safe! I appreciate the sacrifice of our military families and I've sent care packages to military personnel in Iraq. But why do we want to risk their lives for a people who have done NOTHING for us (and never will?)? Is it all because of oil?
Answers:
We got rid of an evil dictator, even if it shouldn't have been our responsibility to do so. Unfortunately, the country ran pretty well under that evil dictator, and now tens of thousands of Iraqis are refugees, and the country is being torn to bits by infighting and civil war.
Our continued presence just puts off the inevitable. While we shouldn't leave in one fell swoop, we should start a process to leave--and it would be nice to involve the rest of the international community in helping to do that.
Yes. Some people are profiting very handsomely. We are there now to secure our resources and keep others out of there. This is about the Legacy of our President Bush. We can't leave now or for the foreseeable future. Plus with war with Iran imminent we may have to suspend the elections.

WHEN YOU ARE NUMBER 1, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO KNOCK YOU OUT OF FIRST PLACE.
SOMETIMES YOU STILL HAVE TO DEFEND YOUR HONOR. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO STOP THOSE WHO DISHONOR YOUR SHORES.

What happens if more things happen throughout the USA -by accident? What if they just keep tossing a lit cigg in California - ooops who said that enemies cause forest fires, or blow up bridges? Nah, not me. I think our enemies are those who hate America from within. I think our enemies are those who don't understand that the constituion says
PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE. How would you want to provide for our defense - and please don't forget to tell the murderers/terrorists who we shall think about on Sept. 11th?
Do you realize that in 20 years, you will control this contry? You know what you can do about it - VOTE! BTW, what have those Democrats done in the first 100 days, which are now long over, that they promised? Nothing you say = ehhhh?
