Does the FCC or some other organization have power over Yahoo?

With "violations" getting out of hand I am just curious..

Answers:
They are going to have to do something, it is out of control. The questions and answers are getting more outrageous and obscene while at the same time an answer clearly within the guidelines is yanked because they don't agree with your point of view. Happened again last night to me. It is obvious that they do not even read the reported answers/questions but simply remove them. Many have left YA and I guess that is their goal to ruin free speech and the exchange of ideas. And Yahoo was become a facilitator of this injustice, sad really.

I didn't answer your question, just a rant. Sorry.

Kinda sorta:

"All electronic communication in the USA is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission. In general the United States, in line with the free speech principle expressed in the First Amendment, has minimal content regulations. It does not mean, however, that the US has no regulations for the Internet."

However, the "violations" come from Yahoo, not the government.
No the FCC can't regulate a public forum, and every member is legally responsible for their postings: Freedom of Speech (of course there are limits on what you can legally post or not).

Yahoo is only responsible of setting the rules and enforcing them when a complain is presented; also they must assist the law enforcement agencies if a crime is done by any user (let's say fraud or child endangerment). Besides that Yahoo is not responsible for any member's action. Remember this a public forum not a mass electronic transmission where some producers decides what to put on air.
