Trick question...if the Declaration of Independence never existed...we would still be a Colony of England...so there would not be a Preamble to the Constitution, The Constitution it's self, Bill of Right or Amendments...


All but the Declaration are the same document -- it's like trying to split out chapters of one book. once you start pulling it apart, you ruin the integrity of the whole thing

Without the preamble, the govt has rules but no goal.
Without the middle section (the artciles) the govt has no structure.
Without the bill of rights (the 1st nine or ten amendments), most of our major protects go away
Without the rest of the amendments, many other changes to the other sections go away

The Declaration was a notice of intent to rebel -- and really has no effect on how we function today -- we could still have rebelled without setting forth our intent formally.

But without the Constitution (all the parts), we would have either broken apart a century ago, or become a fascist country half a century ago. So, we would not exist.
