What causes sexual violence during conflict or war?
i want to know what exactly leads the perpetrators of sexual violence to do so.
Answers:
There is absolutely no justification whatsoever for sexual violence as a tactic of war. More of its motivation stems from primitive evolutionary drives on the part of dominant males. When a new lion takes over a pride he will kill the cubs of the previous male and mate with all the lionesses. Birds also do this when a new [rooster] takes over the flock. Aggression results in an increased production of testosterone and adrenaline in the male animal, and thus an increase in sexual drive. Those on steroids also experience "Roid Rage" which produces reactions which are similar.
The reason is because sexual violence is not done for sexual reasons, but rather for violent reasons whether it's for revenge or anything else......also, some people do that because they think that they can get away with it.
well, it doesn't just start and stop during war. The prevelance is greater because people feel they cannot be caught for it because there is so much going on or, they can just kill everybody. Basically the same as the world outside the war.
The need to humiliate.
