What's needed to file a Small claims report to get deposit back from landlord??
Are there usually fees? Do I have to get an attorney? Paperwork??
Answers:
Just go to the courthouse and they'll give you the paperwork. It's usually just one sheet of paper, and it costs around $20 to file. (You'll get that back if you win your case.)
Take with you a copy of your lease and/or deposit receipt or cancelled check if you have it.
Perhaps you don't deserve deposit back.you obviously are holding something back. Landlords won't give it back if you left the place a mess.
pretty simple paper work, their will be a filling fee which you can recoup if you win
go down to the local court house where the apartment was located, ask for a small claims form, it is very easy to fill out, fill it out, pay the fee and within a week you should have a court date
on the court date do not forget to bring all paper work, pictures etc to prove your case leave nothing at home bring it all
Probably alot of things you didnt do, at the time you handed him the keys....completely paid the last months rent, do a walk thru, get him to sign off/ everything was OK, and he would be returning your dep. within 30 days.
oh! and take pictures....
