Help, kitten needs someone to care?
I live in a Duplex on of the people next to me skiped town they left a kitten, the doors are locked i called the Humane Socity an they will do nothing to help same for the police. My Landlady will not answer my calls for help, I don't know what to do some one help me kitty calls for help. I don't want to break in the place and get my self thrown in jail.

the humane society has to come, you can also call animal control it should be a seperate entitiy provided by your city. You can call your city hall to get the number if you can't find it. Kepp calling the landlady! Maybe shes on vacation?
I agree call the news station you can be annonymous if you want just say the police and humane will do nothing. they will come with firefighters to rescue the kitty.
You can break it, unless it is occupied you won't go to jail (and of course you tell your landlady you will pay for the lock if you break it) In order for you to go to jail the landlady has to press charges, if she is sympathetic she wont.
...call the local TV station(s). give them all the information and watch what happins ! you're going to be amazed.
call the police and tell them you hear noises from that apartment, they have to come
Are you sure the neighbors left for good? How long has it been?
If I were you, I'd write down all the times I tried to get help, through the HS, landlord, police, etc. then break in and get the kitty.
Call the local animal rights group or animal rescue group. They will make some noise for you.
