Is it legally ethical for a judge to sign a search warrant, and set bond against the same defendent?

Answers:
Setting bail/bond is really not that big of a deal unless its clearly an outrageous amount, but to be on the safe side a judge should recuse him/herself. But then again another judge may find for the same bail after you've been in jail an extra day or two waiting for your second arrainment hearing.

Sure -- in fact that's common practice.

Once a judge is assigned to a case, they often hear all matters related to that case.

It's only unethical if the judge has some personal connection or bias against that individual.
It is legal, but not necessarily ethical.
