The Patriot Act has not affected me in the least. Yes I have to take my shoes off at the airport but it's a small price to pay to be safe
No, it is diametrically opposed to the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It truly frightens me to live in a nation where polls show that Americans are willing to give up their Constitutional rights in order to be "safer". Safe from what?
No the Patriot Act removes some of my rights and should be deemed unconstitutional.
The Patriot Act doesn't impact the liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights -- it doesn't allow police or govt to affect you directly in any way that they could not before.
People often say "the Patriot Act" when they really mean any of dozens of other laws and rules that have been put in place. The USA PATRIOT Act is one specific piece of legislation.
