What department or other would you go to to find lawsuits on your city?

Answers:
Local courthouse, or the next higher up court system.

Small claims courts can be interesting..
By "lawsuits on your city" if you mean all lawsuits that have been filed in your city, it depends on where you live. In California, you can go to your local courthouse (or county seat) and go to the "filing" or "files" department. Since lawsuits are all public record with public access, you can ask the people in that department to point you in the right direction.
when you say "lawsuits on your city" you mean lawsuits filed where your city is a party/defendant, you can check with your city attorney's office (who defendant/prosecutes lawsuits on behalf of you city), try the local courthouse, or go to the FEDERAL district court's filing or files department.
Finally, you may want to do a web search, since a lot of courts now have searchable, online access to their dockets.
