How can I know if there is an enlistment bonus for my MOS??
Army Recruiter says there is no way to know until they pull the job I am interested in. Is that true? (Information Techn. Specialist - 25B) Recruiter wants me to sign on the doted line the same day. Sounds fishy to me. Saying things like: cant guarantee your MOS for that job if you come back in 2 weeks and so on...
Had a score of 49 on the Asvab, the recruiter said I need a 60 for the helicopter mechanic Mos.
Need the facts, please. Thanks.
Answer:
MOS are available in the army as slots open up or the need for that MOS increases to an extent, but it sounds like the recruiter is trying to pressure you. You need to stay in control of the situation or else you'll end up letting him screw you over! You should go to the MEPS and talk to the people who you really negotiate your contract with. They will tell you what is available at the time and what bonuses are available. If you dont like what you hear, look at another possible MOS. Or, wait and come back later, because the quotas needed to fill certian MOS's, changes all the time. Trust me, I've been through all of this!
First of all you have to qualify. Second, they have to have an opening in the MOS. If someone comes along in the meantime, you could lose your spot.
You mean you can get 25B IT Specialist with an ASVAB of 49? Uh, doesn't sound quite right...
Tell the recruiter that if he / she can't show you the exact information you require you'll go down the street to the Air Force.
Might see some action then.
Your info just doesn't add up.
The minimum requirenments for MOS 25B is a
ST score of -100
With a AFQT score of 49
There is no way you made a ST score of 100.
They don't use the asvab ( afqt) score to determine what MOS you can enlist in.
It is purely to determine if you can enlist at all.
The AFQT score is made of of 4 of the individual test scores used in the ASVAB.
Check you info and get back to us.
I think your mixing different scores up.
Yes, it is true, sometimes they cannot guarentee you a specific MOS, if you wait two weeks.
They might be trying to fill a specific opening in a AIT class, and if you wait two weeks, you wouldn't be able to graduate basic soon enough.
Not unless you decide to go into DEP and wait till the next Class.
No MOS 25B does not have an enlistment bonus at this time.
