Do I own this picture or not? (Read Details)?

Okay, this is a legal issue that I am looking into. I work for my school's newspaper. The way that I get paid is more through a scholarship and not through a payroll or anything like that. What I mean is that I've never filled out a W2 or any legal papers. At most, I've made $50 for a semester.

I recently took photos of our new stadium and made a panorama that can be found here:

As part of the paper, I was invited to media day of the opening of a new stadium at my school and took photos to make this panorama. I never signed anything with either the stadium or the paper.

Since I am not really employed by the newspaper, isn't anything that I produce my property? If you need more details, message me.

Answers:
Even though you're not technically employed by the newspaper, most student publications have some kind of intellectual copyright for pictures or articles that are published in it, so I don't think it's your property.
Talk to the advisor for the newspaper or the head of student affairs or student activities -- or even the head of the department that handles the newspaper (usually the journalism or English department), and they will tell you what the rules governing that particular paper are.
I think that it would depend on what you wanted to do with the photos. For example, if you wanted to send them to another newspaper, the university would likely be OK with that since it would be good publicity for them, and you would only need some permission to reproduce it or whatever.

whos time were you on, and who owns the camera
