Arraignment and detainer?

A person that I know has a detainer and is in jail. The arraignment was suppose to be 8/8 and it has ben 11 days. How long after an arraignment is scheduled do they have to arraign you? I know that this person is still there becuase of the detainer. I just wanted to know about the arraignment becuase no one is saying anything. I know after you are arraigned they have 180 days till trail. Does anyone know how long the other phases of court?

Answers:
A lot of it depends on the state the person is being held in...some states will pick up a person on a warrant to satisfy a grievance that was not satisfactorily met according to mandates set at the time of original sentencing. They can sit in jail until the required amount of jail time meets the required amount of "money" owed is met...you ask yourself what money? Money the feds pay states as a supplement to maintain their jail system. I knew someone who went to jail for five days to pay off $8 they failed to finish paying on a fine. If it is a new charge they probably already held an arraignment at some ungodly early hour of the morning without anyone but prisoners, assistant da's and appointed attorneys there to do whatever. It is surprising how different states, even different counties in each state can conduct their legal business any ol way they please... and it all appears to be "legal"...
