Denying sterilization but not Abortion?

It is not illegal to give a woman a tubal ligation surgery (getting her tubes tied), but it is a known fact that many doctors will turn down a woman if she is under a certain age (usually 25-30), or if she has no children - thus making it very difficult for her.
BUT...if a girl of any age walked into an abortion clinic she would be welcomed with open arms without question.
What is up with that? What is going on? How can anybody decide that you're too young to decide if you want children or not? I am not a feminist but I think this is society telling people that women are for nothing but popping out babies and if you don't you'll regret it.

I think it's an asinine stance for doctors to take. I had a tubal ligation when I was 21, and though I had to jump through a few hoops, it wasn't near as difficult as apparently some women today have it. I abhor the patriarchal attitude that presumes an adult woman doesn't know what she wants. If she regrets her decision 20 years later, oh well - I'm sorry, but I don't consider that a tragedy.
with sterilization it is costly to reverse if you change your mind. with abortion you can usually choose to have kids later. BTW doctors act the same at times when a man wants a vasectomy.
It's wrong of the doctors to take the decision away from the individual -- in either case.
And the difference is that the people at the clinic are fighting for the right to make it a personal choice. The doctors who refuse to perform the procedure obviously are anti-choice.

Your point is that voluntary tubectomy should be legalised.
Take it to your senators and they will readily agree. In our country we file a PIL ( Public Interest Litigation ) in the honourable court ot of law and the learned judges would take the necesary steps. Please try.
Kindly remember, delivering a child is God's gift to a woman. Motherhood could only be exprienced. NOT explained. Ask your mother about it. She will tell you. Is it not the ultimate to donate 50% of your genes to someone and watch him/her grow as another junior Noelle or Noellson? If your aim is to prevent getting conceived. there are several ways to do it. You can use any one or a combination of them.

well It could be this people change there minds with time a 18 year old could be like I don't want kids but by the time she's 30 she might wants kids. and the whole abortion thing is just messed up any way I can understand if a woman was raped or something and wanting one. But for a woman that just want to have sex and wasn't ready for what comes after sex thats a different story but I will prolly get and ear full for say that much cause i'm a male but hey if you thing your old enough to have sex you have to deal with everything that comes with it
