my husband has received a letter from the court house saying.
THIS DAY THIS CASE COME ON TO BE HEARD UPON VOLUNTARY STIPULATION OF DISMISSAL PURSUANT TO RULE 41(A) (1), MISSISSIPPI RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE AND THE COURT HAVING HEARD AND CONSIDERED SAME FINDS THAT SAID CASE SHOULD BE DISMISSED.
IT IS, THEREFORE,ORDERED AND ADJUDGED, THAT SAID CASE BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE WITH ALL COST TO BE ASSESSED TO THE PLAINTIFF SO ORDERED AND ADJUGDED ON THIS THE 9TH OF AUGUST 2006..
what does this mean and what does he need to do about it?

Answers:
It means the case has been concluded...it's done...nothing more to do.case is closed.

Not sure what you mean about credit...I see nothing about credit in the Order.

"without prejudice" means that he can bring the case back into the court if something changes.

Means the Plaintiff will be paying the court fees and his own attorney's fees. Did the defendant have an attorney?

sounds to me like maybe it was dismissed because there wasn't enough or any proof of the situation at hand.but then again I don't know for sure because I don't have info on the case.

Dismissed means the case is closed, thrown out.

"Without Prejudice" means the plaintiff can re-file at a later time (subject to the statute of limitations).

"Costs Assigned to Plaintiff" means the person who brought the suit must pay their own costs (attorney fees, etc) as well as the costs that the defendant incurred
Clarification of the other answer: Costs on stipulation of dismissal usually do NOT include attorney fees. Consult legal counsel.
Case dismissed. There is nothing else really to do.
