Anyway, I need a job close to home...I applied at McDonalds...I'm a teenager. Anyway minimum wage is $8 an hour, but there is a section in the law that says for the first 500 hours you can pay your employees $6 hour...isn't that ridiculous that they don't even pay minimum wage due to a loophole in the law?

Um I think some of these people need to move outta their glass houses before they start throwing stones. If you were as brilliant as you claim to be in answering or rather belittling this kid you would know that min. wage is different depending on what area of the world and what area of the United States you live in.
Min.wage may be $6.00 hrly in your town USA but in my town USA it is $8.00 hrly.
Just because he asked his question in the U.S. section does not neccesarily mean he made a mistake, perhaps he wants to share his facts with Americans?

Min. wage is 6 dollars an hour. You should be thankful when i started working at 14 (5 years ago) i started at 5.25. Be thankful that you are making that much at all. suck it up and just start working.
My friend's son worked there for a year.
That's not all they do to their employees.
The majority of the employees are mexican, and there was reverse discrimination between them and any employee who wasn't mexican.
The racial slurs, the backstabbing, the sudden cuts in hours, etc. were some of the stunts that were tolerated by upper management. He left there & is now earning 4 times as much someplace else where he is respected.
Your question is showing up in "USA questions only". And yes, I can believe they do that. I"m 36, I've seen a lot, I can easily believe that the bigger the company, the more likely they are to take advantage of every single loophole possible if it means more money for the company. Hate to tell you, but you might as well get used to the idea now, lol.
