Is it illegal in the state of michigan to date a girl that is 17 and the guy is 21?

its been a 4yr relationship just curius if it is illegal or if she has the right to be with someone who is older than her while she is a minor.

Its likely always been illegal. The dating is fine. Its the screwing that's illegal.
She is still under her parents' control until the age of 18. A 21 year old and a 17 year old dating is no problem legally. Besides, the Age of Consent in Michigan is 16.
Just dating is perfectly legal. Having sex when she is under the age of consent is illegal.
