Visitation questions in Florida?
I have custody of my children.. and the x has visitation... everything has been great up untill now.. I normally allow him extra time and have no problem with any issue... however I have my kids in sports for the first time .. and it interfears with his visitation during football season.. I have let him know that I am offering him alternate days to make up for the Saturdays that they will be in sports... he is not too responsive to this.. in fact I am offering him more days that he would of gotten if he was doing the everyother weekend... he refused to take them to the practices and games himself... so what else can I do.. I feel that sports and activities are good for the children.. I think he is being totally unreasonable.. if he threatens to take me to court over missed visitation... would I really have anything to worry about since I am not denying the visits .. we just need to make alternate arrangements.

i am going through the same crap with my ex... document everyhting to the last detail, thats very important. if he does take you to court then demand for his reduced vistitation. you are doing whats right.
The kids are both of yours. The football schedule doesn't interfere with his visitation; he has to take the child to football practice. If you want to go watch so be it. Sports and the like are both of your responsibilities. You do not need to offer extra days or times. Your child goes to football and his father takes him on certain days...PERIOD.
If your ex signed your children up for a reading program that happened to fall on two days of the week you have the children would you tell your kids, "Oh well...not his day." NO, you would get up and take your kids since its all about them...not HIM!
No, you are fine. He is being unreasonable.
The children get much benefit from playing sports and any court would recognize that you are not trying to interfere with his visitation.
Let him take you to court if he wants. So what. You aren't in the wrong. Judge would probably suggest that maybe HE might want to become involved in the sports with his children.
Ex's can be hell, can't they?
