If a guy pays child support for a kid that is not his for 18 years and on the 18th birthday his....?

wife tells him it was not his, can he sue?

I saw a joke about this and was not really laughing , I felt bad for the guy.

What can he do about it?

Answers:
Probably not, once one begins to pay child support, the law usually is that they accept the responsibility whether it is their's or not.

Well does his wife know, if so he better have a long talk with his wife.

If his name is on the birth certificate there is really nothing he can do, because that means at some point he sign paterinity papers saying the child was his. That is the only way his name got on the birth certificate.

Not really much he can do.
Didn't he have enough sense to get a DNA test?
he can sue her for fraud and try to recoup the monies that he paid for child support for the last 18 years.

On the other hand , Did he have a good relationship with the kid, all these years?
If so, think of it as the kid's allowance for the past 18 years!
I know that in CA you have no recourse for getting your money back. As a woman, I feel this is grossly unfair. Sometimes laws are on the books and those laws need to be changed.

One person can make a difference.

Look at Michael Moore, he is one man and yet he is influencing millions. He doesn't wear a suit and tie, he just makes his opinions regarding what he sees as unjust.

You can do the same.
