How am Im suppose to get I.D when I lost all my picture I.D. and my birth certificate?
Im a 51yr. old woman who had to flee a domestic violent situation. Needless to say I also left all my I.D. Im in one state (for safety reasons) and I was born in another state. All the agencies I have contact tell me the same thing, I need I.D. to get I.D! What can I do? I feel lost and Im trying to start my life again.
Answers:
Start by getting a copy of your birth certificate. You can get one from the county recorder of the place you were born; there will be a fee which you can pay by money order if you can't open a checking account. Next, talk to your nearest Social Security office about getting a new card -- although, if you know your number, you probably won't need one. Next, take your shiny new birth certificate to the local DMV and get yourself a new driver's license. That should get you back in business.
you can go to county hall of records where you were born to get another birth cert. you can apply for replacement ss card with these two you can normally replace any other id
This is nonsense. First of all, you can get a copy of your birth certificate simply by contacting the Bureau of Vital Statistics in your birth state. You don't need much to get that except to pay a fee, and maybe give them your SS#. I recently got a copy of my burth certificate and it was no big deal, cost me $10.
You can work your way around any other roadblock if you would stop using your situation as an excuse.
You can obtain your birth certificate from the county where you were born. Contact the county clerk or dept. of records. Social Security should also be able to provide you with a duplicate card, especially if you can remember your number. Motor vehicles where you lived should also be able to provide you with a replacement license, right?
Don't feel lost; you're doing the right thing. Couldn't a social services agency give you a hand with helping you get your ID materials?
Write the city of your birth's public records and request a copy of your birth certificate. I did it and I'm 50 years old, it cost me about $3 to get it but I did get it and you can go from there one step at a time.
your SS number will get all of this replaced soon than you think, unless you think you will be found this way! Your picture says you are 18.
Heck, you can get a Birth Certificate online! Thats how I did it. Cost $35.00, and they do all the work. Takes a couple weeks.
Like one of the earlier answers, quit panicking, and either call the county you were born in, or go online...
You don't need an ID to get an ID.
Have you gone down to the DMV? I got a new DL and they did not ask for my birth certificate or anything.
Cost $21.00..
contact the county clerk in the county you were born to get your birth certificate--it should cost you a small fee (most counties the fee is $20 or less). if you have no cash or don't have access to your bank account (which sounds like the case) ask a friend or a family member to float you the money until you have access to your account. if you have a police report from the domestic violence situation then contact that police departments victims advocates bureau to see what they can do to help you further. also ask the victims advocate if they can assist you in changing your name if that might be an option. good luck and hope all is well in the end
