Need help with parents rights?

My Wifes Daughter (from a previous marriage) decided to move out on her 17th birthday with her father, the father moved out of his sisters house and the daughter stayed behind against fathers wishes, 5 months later the Aunt has begun to seek child support. My wifes divorce decree clearly states that she has legal custody. daughter has since dropped out of school and there is rumor of a pregnancy also. does anyone have any ideas on how I can get my wifes daughter away from this monster ( Aunt has criminal record for fraud and forgery, and I believe is only after money, not working in the best interest of the minor) the police say that there isnt anything they can do because daughter is 17. Is she an adult or is she a minor ? If in the Police depts eyes shes an adult and she chose to stay with aunt how can we be held in regards to financial obligation to aunt ? is emancipation the answer or what else can we do legally ?

Answer:
If the aunt wants money, I would wait for her to sue. ~
Then all the negatives can be brought out in court and let the chips fall where they may.
