Answers:
Go to Google and enter "Department of Vital Statistics (state name)" for the state she was born in. Look on the website for info about ordering birth certificates.

I was born in PA and I was able to get mine online (which was sort of scary, anybody who knew a few facts about me could have ordered it) and it cost $10.00. You have to pay by credit card though. Maybe your dad can pay for it.

Call the hospital where she was born and order a certified copy. It should only cost a few dollars.
get in touch with the county health department. a copy should cost less then 20 bucks.
Contact the vital records department in the county where she was born.
I checked my birth state as the guy above indicated, and was able to get to where I could access mine. Sounds like a good idea.

You may also try writing a request to her mom and sending it registered mail.
