Quetstion on probation/parole from state to state?

If someone currently incarcerated in an Indiana jail, had nowhere in Indiana to live, but his fiance and family lived in Illinois, would it be possible for him to be placed on probation within the Illinois county his loved ones are in?

Answers:
It is possible, if both states agree to the transfer. Indiana has the first say so and they have to contact Illinois who will decide if they want the responsibility of taking over the person. Contact the parole officer in Indiana with all the information of who the people are, etc. They, of course, must be record free, have a decent place to live that can be visited by probation at any time they see fit. I have seen the decision go both ways. Good luck.
