What do I do next?
I have tried to reason with a coworker through a mediator. She has told lies about me and tried to get me fired by saying I'm stalking her and keeping her from doing her job. I have absolutely no contact with her so I don't know how this could be. I have went to her boss to ask him to speak to her about the issues. All he says is that she is not doing it and if I let things be it will go away. Well, it hasn't. She is still telling lies to coworkers about me. I then went to Human Resources to file a claim about her behavior. Again I was told to let it go because filing a claim would only make things worse. She has made my job unbearable because of the constant interrogations when she claims I have done something to her. I don't even work in the same dept. as she does. Leaving my job isn't really an option. I am at my wits end with all this. Any suggestions?
Answers:
ignore her. it could be that easy.
Sue her and yoor employer for harrassment.
Talk to a lawyer. It is amazing what a $50 letter from a lawyer will accomplish.
You have a couple of options. You can speak to an attorney and see what your rights are. But you would have to prove that she is doing things to you and it sounds a little difficult to prove.
You can listen to HR and your Boss and ignore her. Buy a set of BOSE QC2 earphones and shut her out. Get your work done and prove that you are an awesome employee and much better than her.
Or you can spread lies about her and prove that you are as bad as she is.
I went back and visited your previous questions. I can see where they would think you are stalking them. You keep repeating your questions over and over and over and over.
Give it up and go find a new job elsewhere.
Human Resources CANNOT tell you to let it go! It is their job to help you follow the proper procedures for resolving this. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of losers who work in Human Resources, I'm not sure why. The HR person at my last job was the same way, I reported some completely inappropriate things a manager in another department said to me, and she did nothing about it.
I would suggest that you document EVERYTHING the co-worker has done, and every response you have gotten when you reported it. Email the documentation to the human resources person again, and cc the human resources person's supervisor. In the email, state that this is the second time you have reported it and that you would appreciate a timely response because this behavior is affecting your ability to perform your job. Good luck!
