Why do people still claim that Valerie Plame's status in CIA was not covert?

Would it be to her advantage to lie here?

Answer:
Because it makes them feel better about the lying administration. They have sold their souls to this administration and they never admit failure or being wrong. George Bush has been put on the altar of the party for worship.
Was Brewster Jennings a company of 1 employee? NO. The CIA ran the company which meant other "spies" worked for it.
She had been putting together a network which was going to help us put HUMAN intelligence in place for Iran and their WMD (you know the thing that supposedly existed in Iraq but didn't) and getting ready to leave when she was outted. IF she had not been covert, the CIA would not have been limiting what she could or could not say in front of Congress. They are probably still trying to salvage what networks and intelligence connections were destroyed by these boneheads. It was not only her that was hurt. ALL of the NOCs and others who were "covert" and working for Brewster Jennings were hurt by this. She is just the face of it.

The same way Halliburton is in Iran, possibly Brewster Jennings could have been trying to get in but that was taken apart to justify a freaking lie.

Ignore her testimony. Several senior CIA officials and at least one federal prosecutor have confirmed she had covert status.

But by denying that, people can deflect from the real issues and spin the story to engage in irrelevant debate.
