Would you get in trouble?

I was watching this show when I thought of a question. If someone gave you $10,000 to murder someone and you took the money. But you ran with it and didn't kill them, would you get arrested for taking the money to kill someone but not killing them or not? Would you be in trouble?

Answers:
No. A contract to do something illegal - kill someone - is void and completely unenforceable. In all liklihood, the "victim" would claim you just stole his money and would not admit he paid you to kill someone, and if they lied then you could have to defend yourself on that charge, but the answer to the question you asked is no.

Yes it would. It would be considered money laundering and compriracy to commit murder.
I think most people that try to hire someone to do a hit..only give them so much down and the rest when they show the hit has been done. If you ran off with the down payment, this person would probally then have a hit out for you.
breach of contract
