Dui / legal question?

I got a dui when I hit a house. I got sued and I did not have money to pay for the house, so my licence was suspened for not paying the judgement against me for the house I hit. Can I start making payments like a $100.00 dollars a month to their lawyers and get my licence back or do I have to pay the whole 10,000 dollars all at once to get my licence back, please help if you know anything about this kind of thing. *I now do not drink anymore. Thank you

Answers:
First of all, you should call your state's DMV. They'll tell you exactly what you need to do to get your license back.
Then you should get a lawyer to deal with the law suit.
That being said, I've never heard of a state suspending a drivers license for not paying the awarded amount in a personal law suit. Are you sure the suspension wasn't for the DUI? Usually suspensions are given for a specified length of time like 90 days, 12 months, etc. As far as I know, the only time that's not the case is if you haven't paid your state fines/penalties. The suit shouldn't have anything to do with it.

No way to answer this question here. That's really between you, the state and the lawyer. If the state agrees to payments, then that should be fine. If not, it wont be. There is no formula that applies here.
Probably not - could you borrow $10,000 and pay $100 a month to the lender? Probably not. Could you get a cash advance from a credit card for $10,000 and pay it back at $100 a month? Probably not. Best of luck.
You can make payments, but probably won't get your license back until it is fully paid. It's only fair after all. The judgment is meant to pay for the repairs that the homeowners may not be able to afford.
That is something to explore through a lawyer. It sounds like a good plan and hopefully a lawyer can help you. If you cannot afford a lawyer contact the license bureau and find out how it can be done.
Glad you stopped drinking. Make it for good.
Ask a lawyer.
LIke Lady D said, you'll probably have to pay off the ENTIRE debt before your license is reinstated. That being said, something toward the debt is better than nothing. You should be aware that these peoples lawyers/insurance company MAY come after any assets you may have such as your house or car to settle this debt.

Also, is your licence suspended or revoked? If it is suspended, then it is for a specified period of time, and any progress is good. If it is revoked, then you have a court proceedure to go through; which you probably won't be allowed to begin until after the debt is paid.
You didn't say where you got the DUI, different states have various laws. I can be more assistance if I knew in what state are you referencing.
