Are no compete clauses in N.C. legal?

I heard in some states no-compete causes are illegal. What about North Carolina??

Answers:
They are not legal in Texas, but employers still make you sign them before they let you go to work for them. So, it really doesn't matter if the law is "on the books" or not. It's whether the law gets enforced or not. In this corporate controlled economy, the laws that favor employees don't get enforced. Exactly like our constitutional laws that are not being enforced either. They were not enforced under Reagan, and so now there is precident. GWB can say "Daddy did it too", and that makes all this lawlessness A-OK. Just keep paying your taxes or else you will see the law enforced fast enough.

Laws and taxes apply only to the "little people".

legal in N.C.
If reasonable in time and place, they should be legal everywhere.
