Do you believe that the Constitution is a legacy document from a 'previous form of government'?

It has been said that GWB called the constitution a 'god damned piece of paper'. MY response to this is : "well so is the god damned patriot act bit€h." - would you agree or disagree with my premise that any politician who pledges to uphold the constitution should be called an 'unamerican piece of sh|t' when they claim its an old and useless document?

Answer:
First of all, the alleged GWB quote is hearsay and probably untrue.

What is truly scary is when a politician or judge refers to the Constitution as a "living document." That is code for "we don't like what is written on the paper, so we'll insert what we WISH it said as law, and say that it is constitutional."

"Living document" = ignore what it says.

You are absolutely right, and he should be hung as well, for treason, entering a treaty with mexico and canada that threatens US sovereigty (SPP.gov)
Our Constitution is alive as always. I won't answer the rest of you question.
wow...another liberal gem...and just exactly where did this quote come from. and when clinton trampled on the constitution did you give him a pass.

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
for future reference when you ask a question its really important you know what your talking about and you need a source lots more credible than nancy pelosi compaign diatribe.
You shouldn't use vulgar words when saying those things, but yes, without the vulgarity, I agree.

The PATRIOT act has severely reduced the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. I believe the politicians who want to limit our rights to catch terrorists are in fact letting the terrorists win.
you are correct.
No! I believe that the Constitution is just as relevant as it was when signed in 1787! Of course there have been amendments to it to keep it up to date with modern times, but its original concept is just as alive & well as it was when it was first written. Other nations have copied our Constitution, so it can't be just a legacy from a previous form of government. It is the base of our government today. I do question your claim that President Bush called it an old & useless document, he has referred to it at times in his speeches.
