Well, it certainly cuts out the middleman. Not having to deal with a cop would be an improvement. I don't think the police unions would allow them, though.

besides, avoiding that is simple, unhook the speedometer cable (mine broke a couple years ago, its not a necessary gauge if you have a tachometer and a brain) or hack the device and rewrite the code, there is no lock that cannot be picked
Photo radar is the best system
How do they know who was driving at the time, and that it wasn't done at the track either...you can take your personal car to the drag strip and race if you so choose...so how they charge anyone on that basis?
