Is this a strange coincidence or should she report it?

We live in a rural area. Walmart is 30 miles away. My friend was driving home from shopping and her truck started smoking really bad. She pulled over. Her cell was dead. A guy pulled over to "help". She said she didnt know her husbands number because its in her phone and her phone was dead. She need to use his phone to call her mom for the number then call her husband. So they guy gives her a piece of paper to write the number on. It was hot this day. Over 100 degrees. she says I'll just wait for my husband. The guy almost down right insists she get into his truck. She holds her own and says no she can wait. So the guy leaves. Comes right back and says he'll stay til her husband gets there. Now it's a week later. The truck is fine. No oil leak anywhere. She happened to see the paper she got from the stranger. It was a receipt from walmart. He'd been in there the same time she had. In line right behind her if you go by the check out time. He'd bought duct tape. Sabotage? Oil on exhaust?

Answers:
she should report him right away. i'm getting sick of people who try to sabotage other peoples lives. i feel like punching him. i'll pray for your friend :] God Bless!

Seeems like a stalker. But if he didn't hurt her, nothing to report.
REPORT THIS!! What if some girl is stupid enough to get in his car? At least they'll have this incident on file. And his description. Possibly a pic from WalMart security camera.
Hmmmm.Nancy Grace will be talking about him soon. Stay tuned.
could be she should report it , they may be able to track the receipt
Yes I sure would report it!!! It could be he has done something like this and harmed someone! It never hurts to be safe.
Wow, weird.
I think its a coincidence.

I also believe in Santa Claus though...
If this isn't an urban legend in the making it should be! Gave me the shivers! It doesn't seem to be coincidence!
not to worry (much). if his true intent was evil, he most definately had the opportunity alongside the road.
perhaps he seemed creepy because he genuinely wanted to help, and that effort was misconstrued.
It seems strange, but I'd say coincidence. If it were sabotage and he wanted to harm her, he had his opportunity on the side of the road and obviously she's ok.
you should report it! btw, if not a intended rape etc, that is QUITE a co-inky-dink
Hmmm, She could report it just in case. What state do you live in? Sounds a little like where I just moved from...lol. It might be a coincidence but better to be careful anyway.
all that is wierd and all but its just circumstantial evidence. if he was going to abduct or hurt her, he would have done it then and could have easily overpowered her and forced her into his truck if he wanted to. its just a coincidence that he was behind her in line and perhaps also a coincidence they were going down the same road. unless something else happens, i wouldnt worry about it. in the future though i would tell your friend to have her husbands number written down somewhere in her purse.
Every rural yokel who drives a truck and stops for strange women purchases duct tape!

Their trailers are being kept together by tiny pieces of fragmented duct tape this very moment!

Their kids are running around with duct tape strapped to the bottom of their shoes to keep their toes from slipping through the holes in their soles!

Your friend should definitely not report this unless and until she has more viable evidence (and an attempted crime) to attach to her statement.
Kind of hard to say. Could just be coincidence but she might talk to the police just in case. In a best case or even probably case scenario the guy just happened to be going the same way. It could be something though and they would at least know if anything like this sounds like any cases they have had.

I mean, if it is over 100, you can't say much about the guy being worried about her. That is heat exhaustion temperatures. And if the rural area is like rural areas I know then one road leads to ten towns. Not much their either. I wouldn't worry to much but at least let someone know about it just in case.
O.k it seems a little scary, but he could have just bought the tape for some other use, and you say she lives in a rural area well if the guy was a creep he could have done what he liked with her and no one would see it right, he didn't do that he lent her his phone and and the reason he came back was cos he probably thought to himself that this woman is on her own and he just wanted to do the right thing and wait with her, please don't report him, first he didn't do anything wrong and imagine if they arrest him and your friend finds out that he isn't some crazy dude that follows women around, that would be really bad. Nex time make sure she has her phone fully charged so she won't have a problem like this anymore.
