What are Georgia renters rights as far as a Mobile home on landlords property?

my mother in law owns the trailor, and she pays rent but, the landlord is threating to turn her water off. there is a busted water pipe under the ground. and he said that if she did not have it repaired the water would be shut off. he has all the water lines to all the other trailors ran off of one line. and is always tampering with them..thanks

Answer:
You need to call your local Fair Housing Office. It is against the law for a landlord to turn off water. In fact, he may be responsible for the water leak. I tried looking up the renters laws in your state and could not locate them. The fair housing office will have a copy of the tenants rules. Landlords shutting off water tho is against the law.

Most likely the terms of lease state that the tenant is responsible for the water line from the main to the trailer. Just like the phone company is only responsible for the line to the house and the rest is yours unless you pay every month for in house repair protection. She is responsible for the repair and if she does not have it fixed the landlord can turn off the water to save the waste and cost of the water.
