well lets see, i havent been going to school and i have court on friday for it, i might go on probabtion but if i go on probabtion what exavtly happens? i know i have drug test..and i just smokes pot this weekend..so if i fail a drug test what happens? im 16 years old and i live in pa please dont tell me i shouldnt smoke pot or i should go to school i allready know and like you telling me that is going to change me. and can you please tell me what probation exactly is and what will happen?
Answer:
At court, you may be declared a ward of the state, meaning that the court has the right to set the rules for you and see that you follow them.
Keep smoking pot and you are sure to eventually fail a random drug test given to you by your probation officer. Then you get to go to juvie for a while.
Fail to show up for an appointment with your probation officer, and go to juvie for a few months to think it over.
Fail to go to school--same thing.
So why not just sober up and go to school? You have a better plan?
Probation means that if you commit any crime or anything illegal during the time you're in probation they will consider that a violation to the probation and you will end up in prison.
I a not going to preach you but just and advice...You are too young, you have your whole life ahead of you, if you start now to messing that up...just think what your future will be. But hey...THANK GOD YOU'RE NOT MY KID!!
Not sure about PA, but in Ohio:
If the Court orders a drug test, your screwed. If you go on probation, you'll probably be tested on a regular basis, and your screwed. Once on probation, failure to attend school could result in a probation violation and/or contempt of court. A positive drug test once on probation will likely result in probation violation charges as well as any related drug charges.
Possible penalties of the above are: Transfer from probation to confinement in a juvinal correction facility; fines, community service, or more strictly supervised probation. Also, in some states, your parent(s) may now face fines and possible charges.
