Is it true that Texas is the only state in which you can shoot a burglar in your home no questions asked?

Could this possibly be true? I'm pretty sure that folks in Louisiana can fire at will as well. You all remember that 16 year old Japanese kid who was killed by some Louisiana homeowner while trick-or-treating, right? Yeah the guy who killed him was a complete moron, but the grand jury refused to indict, and rightly so. Life is full of accidents and misfortunes. This was one of them.

But I digress. Can't you shoot a burglar in your house in any other state besides Texas? If not, that's just one more reason why I'm never going to move. AND I DON'T EVEN OWN A GUN! Heck, I HATE guns! But if someone is burglarizing your house, you should definitely have the right to defend your person, your family, and your property, no questions asked...

Answers:
No, not just Texas.

Nope, I did it just last year here in Arkansas. Sucker kicked in my front door at 1 am, 1:01 am he was dead meat. Made my wife mad I got brain matter all over her new quilt. Then the coroner took over 30 minutes to come and haul his carcass away.
Okla-COMA last Governor election - he made it a law that you have the right to protect yourself, in your car, in your home, and your property - with what ever means that you have. Got him elected.
Its best to shoot them in the front, the police sometimes ask questions if you shoot them in the back.
No questions asked? Hardly. Even in Texas the shooting will be thoroughly investigated. If it is a bad shooting, you will be prosecuted.
amen brother!. thats true about Texas but I am not sure about other states... I think on other states... they put more emphasis on the "duty to retreat" law. This law, requires the defendant to prove he or she tried to retreat before using lethal force if someone attacked her. But in Texas. the "Castle doctrine" law gives you the right to use lethal force if you deem you are being attacked by someone in your car or house. They will still investigate the incident though... but if the cops deem things add up... like a robbery or something.. then you'll get off the hook easily. due to this law. In other states, you would have to fight off the "Duty to retreat" law. The saying "Dont mess with Texas" has never been more true.
Other states do give homeowners the right to protect their lives and property. Most southern states and mid-west states have laws on the books shielding homeowners from prosecution for defending themselves.those states that prosecute law abiding citizens for defending their life and property tend to be in the upper north-east and California. It has to do with weather the residents take responsibility for their own welfare or expect "Big Brother" to always be there to protect them from the Bogey man.I'd rather die a free Texan than reside in any state that will not allow me to protect myself and my property. To the Liberals that think we are just a bunch of gun-toting rednecks:glad you think so.Stay the hell out of Texas.
