Data Protection at Work?
I asked for my annual leave card at work I work in UK local government office My contract is pro rota and I asked firstly about taking 10 days as Paid leave as I have 2 months off work so I didnt need them I was told no not possible So when my leave card returned to me the Email I had wrote to personnel was attached and I was handed it by my line manager not in a sealed envelope as it should have been My salary was stated on the photocopy as it was the information regarding how many weeks leave I was entitlled to and even that was wrong Previously an Employee was looking through holiday leave for others in the office and I found him looking at my contract When I asked my line manager why she apologised and said it was left there by mistake I had not given permission for it to be printed and to my knowledge that should only be for eyes only the boss and if required ? No other person should be allowed to look at my contract without written permission from me CAn I make a complaint ??
