Is having an affair illegal?

in the UK. or is it just morally wrong?

Answers:
If you are married it can be grounds for divorce, but you cant be arrested for it as it is not illegal.
I do think however that it is morally wrong in my personal opinion, but if others want to do it then thats fine.

yes.. yes it is
Morally wrong.
Not in the eyes of the law,are you looking for some extra marital activity by any chance.
I don't know if it's illegal but it's wrong in the Bible.
I'd say it's morally wrong and should be illegal.

For all practical purposes it is illegal - because marriage is supposed to be a contract that says the husband and wife must only have intimate relations with each other. Or do they have anything like that in the marriage contract?
There are "blue laws" in place almost everywhere in the world prohibiting it. But haven't really been enforced for decades
illegal or not, its still wrong
USA HERE and no not in most states
I don't know about U.K Law,
I think it is illegal as premarital sex.
Morally wrong based in the Faith with God.
morally wrong because you will break more than one heart
I live in the US and it probably is against the law in your country. Ask a cop and they will tell you.
It depends on what state you're in, if you're in the US. In some states there are several grounds for divorce. In Alabama for example there are eleven including infidelity, mental cruelty, etc. In California there are two - irreconcilable difference, and mental incapacitation of one partner that requires long term psychiatric institutionalization. No, you won't be arrested for it, but you could lose your chances of getting custody of your children, or collecting alimony, if you've got "infidelity" as grounds for divorce. In some states in the Bible Belt sodomy, which is a biblical term, is used in law, and it's against the law. It states that any sexual contact between any persons who are not legally married is sodomy and against the law. This law is often used against gay people who might be in a custody or alimony or other divorce settlement. In California, marriage is more of a business partnership and marriages are dissolved, like in business partnerships, because if you have an affair or something like that it can be considered that the two of you can't work together, that someone broke the binds of the contract of marriage.
thats where karma and morals come in.. its legal but wrong. You could use that as grounds to file for a divorce though.
