Should 999 hoaxers/timewasters be fined??
I work for the ambulance service and its crazy the amount of people who call us out for trivial things such as getting a papercut. Do you think these people should be fined for timewasting and taking the resources away from people who could be in danger. Personally I think yes!

Yes, I agree. It shouldn't be a poxy fine either. They should be made to pay for the entire cost of the resources they've wasted by making that call i.e. the cost of running the ambulance, the paramedics' wages, etc.

For the most part yes, BUT calls like that often indicate a suicidal tendency. They call just to see if anyone cares. It's sad. I think that they should be required to have a psychiatric evaluation BEFORE a fine is levied. If their evaluation is poor, they should have a judgment for mandatory therapy.
personally i think yes too i heard that on weekend u get drunk ppl wanting a lift home cos they haven't got 1 and things like that

yes its really annoying especially when its a matter of saving peoples lives.u can;t joke with things like 999 calls its disgracefull, persoanlly i would say if it can wait 15 minutes then u might as well take a taxi to the hospital or just simply don't go.

I think they should at least be warned, maybe 3 times and if they persist they should be giving some community service. i just think half the time these people are lonely.

Hoax callers can and will be prosecuted if it is reported.What you describe is not hoax's but trivial calls if they were prosecuted then it would possibly dissuade genuine callers as well.
I think that they should serve a prison sentence, oh silly me we live in England!.
