Where do I stand legally?

I started in a work, due to many reasons walked out after a day and half, did not go back after lunch time.I was upset and wanted to forget the whole thing, however my husband phoned asked to speak with the manager to explain everything and ask for my wages, he was told I am not due anything because I walked out and did not tell them. I forget to mention eight people before me walked out, within the week.

Answers:
Sounds like a bum deal but unless you can contact any of the other eight ( how did you get the job the dept. of employment might know who they are if you got the job through through them ) I don't think you have a case chalk it down to experience

well its kind of true you walked out that day you shouldnt get pay wouldnt you fell bad for how the manager's business because 8 ppl already walked out and you do too who will work for his business?
Reed your contract . It it states you do not get pay if you leave before X no of days you cant get your wage.
They owe you the hours you worked...
It depends on which country you live and work (and walk out) in.

In Scotland, any day you work, you get paid for. Even if you walk out without saying anything.

In England, if you get too much wages paid to you, if you end up spending it, your employer CANNOT ask for it back. It was their mistake, not yours. However this law does not apply on Scotland.

All employment laws change from country to country, best to speak to citizen's advice (or equivalent).
it doesnt matter weather you walked out or not they cant not hold wages earned
Legally stand where? You are asking if you have a legal basis to claim your one and a half day wage with the company you been? I do not think you have legal basis to claim them since the manager is right when he told your husband that you walk out of the job without informing them of your plan or scheme, which is dereliction of your duty as an employed worker in that company.

It is like a song, "shot to the heart, its all been said..honey you give love a bad name..." you personally give the company a bad reputation of walking out on them. With disregard to the fact that 8 more people walk out on them, which to say, you should have told them that "hey guys, I quit, besides there are 8 people ahead of me that done it so far.chow!"
country please?
Legally they are obligated to pay you for the hours that you worked.
However due to the hassle (and cost) of getting a solicitor to write to them, maybe you should just chalk it down to experience.
you done the hours they owe you the pay
i had similar problems when i worked at our local hospital
i kept on and on until i finally got my wages 3 months later
How many times are we going to have to read this question? Just talk to a lawyer and have them threaten a law suit unless your previous employer provides some kind of legal reason as to not paying you. If you signed a contract and didnt read the fine print, there could very well be a part in there that states if you were to quit before a certain period of time with that company, you may not be entitled to anything.
As long as he has treated those other eight people the same then you probably won;t get far with any claim.
You are entitled to be paid for the time that you worked.
Ask a lawyer or CAB
unless you were being sexually harassed in the workplace you don't get any money - you walked out.
