Do you think the age limit should be raised?

for getting wed for passing your driving test and to get drunk you can marry but cant drive or drink ??

Answers:
I think that the age level for everything should be the same. It is crazy at the moment. At 16 you can buy tobacco and have sexual intercourse, 17 for driving a car, and 18 for getting married and buying alcohol..Wouldn't it be better to just have the one age for everything? I also realise though that from October the age for buying tobacco will go up to 18. I think that it would be good to have that age for everything.

yes Britain has got some draconian laws though!
i know.it's weird...in romania when u're 18 u're legaly an adult and can do pretty much anything:marry,drink,drive,joi... the army.i think it's a pretty good system!
For getting married, yes, I think 16 (even with parental consent) is a ludicrous age to devote the rest of your life to someone. If you are truly meant to be together then you won't mind waiting a bit longer to get that piece of paper.
Passing your driving test - I don't think it would do any harm for it to be raised to 18 but I think more emphasis needs to be placed on educating young people about being responsible.
Getting drunk - this has long been a bugbear of mine, if we Brits had the same attitude as they do on the continent we wouldn't have anywhere near the problems we do with young drinkers. If you have been drinking alcohol from a young age (supervised and probably diluted), it isn't a novelty and you are less likely to abuse it.
it should be lowered, the bleeding heart tendency towards denying experience only prolongs their development not to mention that it robs people of years and potential.

Really though if theres a test to determine aptitude for driving and for citizenship, and if theres psychological exams to receive social services or stand trial, there should be a test of some sort to determine the level of responsibility and prohibitions would be based on effective age instead of chronological age.
LonelyRang3er is right

make it 23 for everything

(I is nearly 50)
Yes. I think it should be raised for getting wed, passing your driving test and drinking.Soon if the government raise the school leaving age you will have school children doing all three. Then God Help us all.
Yes. Taking a driving test should not be allowed until you are 25 yrs. They would ignore raising the getting wed, they just become pregnant anyway for benefits and social housing. Purchasing alcohol should be raised to at least 25 yrs also.
yes you can have a baby at 16 but you cant buy a house or get married until you are 18
