Why are we allowing the goverment to walk all over us.?

Most of the things the government does these days is over economics. What a lot o people dont realize, (and thats why we're allowing it, ignorance) is that it is really starting to interfere with our own personal liberties. Most people I know though, living in small town america, care more about money and being safe and secure than having actual freedom. They've been partly brainwashed into believing that our freedom somehow ties into homeland security. It doesnt. Our freedoms are way more threatened from the inside, than from ANYTHING on the outside. People are just ignorant. We dont realize we're being pushed around so we dont do anything about it! The smoking bylaws are their because of health insurence, the impaired laws are partly there because of auto insurence. Its absolutly ridiculous. Since when has the money of this country been more important than its men (and women, of course)? The government is currupt, and luckily for them, they have suceeded in making people misguided, and gaining their equally misguided support.
We are letting the government walk all over us because there is nothing we can really do. We vote for who we think is best... but it doesn't always work out that way. They're under pressure from so many different people... it's like it was a good idea hundreds of years ago, and it's spiraled out of control. Nothing more we can do than hope for the best. At least that's how I feel.
