How do I postpone a court date.?

I was arrested for possession {marijuana, under an ounce} in georgia on my way to a concert. I got a citation with a fine only, and it won't be on my record.

I don' have all the money to pay the fine yet so I need too know how to get a court date postponed seeing as I'm out of state {I live in fl.} and all.

I have called the clerk and asked and they said they could not extend it, however lawyers I have talked to said you could but I have never been told how.

I believe I have to go to court to enter a plea, however I already know that pleading guilty means I have to be on probation until I can pay the fine.

Thanks.

Well, well, senator. Fine mess you have yourself in... You have to attend the court date and file for an extension. Of course going to court with whatever money you have as good faith payment will always go over well with a judge

You dont postpone a court date. It looks REALLY bad if you do. You can ask the judge for an extension on the time the fine is due because you dont have the money. I wouldnt push it dude~especially since its your first time getting caught.
Well if I where you I would try to get a continuess,, or go to a paralegal ,, you would how ever file some type of paper work , Now the court can deny it .. so do more home work ok ? sorry but thats all I have
Only way you can get a court date postponed is to go to your court date with a lawyer and have a lawyer ask for a postponement.
just don't go back to the county/state
Just put it on the credit card.
