The military "approved" a new policy that forces me to bring my M-16 weapon into the church on post. R or W ?
I know I'm a soldier and it is my duty to serve and defend. However, I'm Christian and servant for God FIRST! And just waltzing into the house of The Holy God Almighty, where His people worship, with a blood spiller is just immoral.

maybe you ought to take this dilemna of yours up with your c.o. Maybe you should re-think your military career if having a gun (of any caliber) conflicts with your religion. I mean, does it really matter if you are carrying it into a church or if you're in another building.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything but if you really feel that strongly about carrying a weapon which is equipment necessary for your job, and ya know, you may need to use it some day (hopefully not) you may have a lot more problems trying to deal with that issue - more than you can handle. so, for your personal well-being maybe you should re-think this that's all I am saying.
And, Thank you for serving our country. really, I mean that.
A chick with a gun, that is soooo hot.
The church and the military are merging. You should have an opertunity to dess in civies. How could you possilbe carry your 16 in civies?
The real God is on America's side in this holy war so you can take your weapon into a church to stop evil if needed.
Think about it trooper (Army?), if you are talking about going to service in a shack in the middle of a battlefield. You bet your glory book my weapon is going to attend mass. Have a great Navy day....
God isn't just in church so having a loaded weapon in church is the same as anywhere else.
Look, I'm sure "God" doesn't really give a crap about your gun if you are sincere with your intentions. If it is policy and you have to abide to the rules, God isn't going to smite you for doing what you are told. It's not like you are going to shoot anybody in the church or are even THINKING of shooting someone. All God cares about is that you are a good Christian and that you are actually in church, praying to the Almighty, blah blah blah.
Stop being such a traditionalist. Times change, and so does God's understanding of us puny, pathetic humans.
Apparently you have yet to attend a church service in a combat area, under God's beautiful sky. We Catholics used to call it a "muddy boot mass", where the front of the jeep was the altar. Everyone was armed, except the priest.
If your personal religious belief is that you cannot enter a house of worship while being armed, you might want to seek spiritual counseling from a chaplain in your unit.
I love christians, the hypocrisy never stops. Study the early church. If you were a soldier you didn't touch weapons. But today the rule is, your soul belongs to God, your *** belongs to the Army. If your infrantry some where along the line you were told that if your fire arm is not in your hand it is very close by. This is a good rule. The Islamic fundementalist just blew up a mosque. Do you really think that they would wait for end service and the troopers to get their weapons before they took you out. I have one piece of advice. Don't get near combat. The only question would be how many of your buddies you would get killed before you kaked it. Focus is very important in combat. If your worried and trying to decide about blowing someones guts out you just took to long and you've been zapped. Oddly enouugh thats why some stoners did so well for a while. They really had focus.
