Typical sentence for 2nd degree escape?
A family member of mine was doing weekends at a local detention center, she did not return for the last 3. So 3 charges of escape in the 2nd degree were put on her. I wanted to find out what the "average" sentence is? What are we to look forward to? Please ANYONE with descent help, its greatly appriciated!
Answers:
Really depends on the jurisdiction (what city, county, state, etc). Generally, an escape charge CAN net a few years in prison, but failing to appear for weekends is probably going to get her 30 days.
9-12 months state jail
It really depends on her past record...but 2nd degree felonies are serious...4th and 5th degrees are less serious but when you talk about felonies 1, 2, 3 you're talkin about doin time...and then to ecscape?! Even worse...there's no pat on the hand this time.wish you well...the best advice is just to make sure you support them with lots of mail...when you are locked up that's like the lottery...next to receiving money.
