My payment for a speeding ticket I think got lost in the mail. Where can I check the status of the ticket.?
The check that I've sent does not have a duplicate and can't prove that I've sent the payment. I don't want to get a bad record on my DL. The traffic violation happend a mont ago in Chicago and I've sent the payment the very next day. I didn't get any response and I'm afraid not to wreak my record. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciate it.

Send another check. If they cashed the first one, they should just return the second. In the future, for circumstances like this either use certified mail, or spend a couple of dollars more and use U.P.S ground.
If the check hasn't come out of your account then you need to call and find out why they have not processed your payment. Because you have let it go so long you may end up paying late fees.
Uhh im just guessing here but perhaps you should call your bank and see if the check was cashed...
If you wrote a check then your bank should be able to track it. If it hasn't been cashed it definately was lost...call the Motor Vehicle Bureau of your city or state and ask them to check...you won't get arrested for that.since you haven't got a response and you haven't been stopped you should be okay.
1st Call and make sure to see if they received payment. If not cancel your check. Then personally go down there and make a payment. Don't worry, they have you in their files as owing money.
As long as you wrote a check, your bank will know when or if it was cashed. And you can also call the court house to see if they have received the payment yet.
