Can I press charges?

an ex-boyfriend stole my checks and forged my name...he has been arrested but his grandma bailed him out..Am i able to press charges against him? I want him to go to jail...he has priors and i just think he is going to get off Scott free since grammy paid off his restitution to the bank.

Answers:
If he's been arrested, you need to discuss this matter with the officer(s) involved in the case.

i couldnt see why he would get off scott free he committed larceny (taking your checks), forgery(signing your checks), and uttering (passing your checks). if you havent gone to the police station, how did he get arrested, who complained? if not you, then go down there yourself and fill out a report
I am a little confused here. You say that he was arrested and bailed out. Okay, so he has some charges pending already otherwise why was he arrested and needed to make bail. Was he arrested because of the the check thing? If so charges are already there. If it was for something else then contact the police department and report the theft and forgery.

Unless he has already gone to court you don't know if he will get off.
It is a felony and yes you can press charges. Call it identity theft and check fraud.
