Should kids under the age of 18 get life in prison?
If someone under the age of 18 commets a crime should the have to spend the rest of their life in prison?
Answers:
I think from age 13 and up, if you do an adult crime, you pay the adult time. 12 and under should go to juvy. However, its just prolonging the inevitable. Kids who commit crimes usually continue along that same path for the rest of their lives.
no we should give them a lolipop instead
Depending on the circumstances, if they commit 1st degree murder, yes. It doesn't take an 18 year old to know murder is wrong.
if they can do the crime they can do the time
i agree:lolly pop plus a snikers bar.oh! and a happy meal too!!
if they do a crime which is grounds for a life in prison sentence, then yes. you dont have to be 18 to know the difference between right and wrong and what the law is.
Depends on what crime they commit.
Kids under the age of 18 should get life in prison because by a certain age they know what is right and wrong. They know by the age of five not to murder someone or not to rob a bank. It shouldn't matter how rough a life they have had.
A pschyo path doesn't really have an age where they start receiving signals. Although that diseased personality starts young with killing and maiming animals and progresses to people events. If you can't fix them kill them. Let God sort it all out. Virgina Tech, Columbine, Arkansas, younger and younger and more violent. Lethal Injection is too kind for them. Zap them on the 50 yard line at NFL games for the half time show.
It depends on what they have done. I think a 16 or 17 year old (like the one who assisted the sniper in Washington, Virginia etc a few years ago ) should spent life in prison at the least. An 8 year old might not get that blowing away strangers is just wrong. But a 16 year old does. If he is old enough to understand what he is doing, he is old enough to pay for it. To put it in perspective...Imagine your parents and spouse and child are eating dinner somewhere...you have stepped to the restroom. A 16 year old who just got fired from there comes in and opens fire. Your family is killed. The killer says "They shouldn't have fired me. They deserved having people killed here for firing me." Do you care how old he is? I wouldn't. Would you be OK with him getting a shorter sentence because of him being 2 years less than 18? How short? Until he is 21? I would not want him out where anyone else could lose loved ones.
Depends on how heinous the crime is.
Only if they are repeat offenders and deemed beyond help by psychologists and they have committed a heinous crime.
