What can you do if the owner of your land is talking to you about repossessing your land for false reasons?
My mom has been buying her land for about 10 years. She recently moved a log cabin to her land with the approval of the person whom sold her the land. Everything was fine until she decided she wanted to add a bathroom onto her cabin. She first asked the guy she purchased the land from about adding the bathroom. He said "no problem". The neighbor next door started complaining and making rumors that she was living in this cabin. The seller of the land came out while my husband was there building on the bathroom and said it looked great. Two weeks later the same loud mouth neighbor called complaining to seller of land that she was still adding more onto the cabin. Not true! The seller called my mom today and screaming at her that he no longer trusted her and might have to repossess her land. She then asked him if he didn't go and see for himself the bathroom that was added on and say it looked great. He said yes but after looking again more was added. Nothing else was added

There is only one option. She needs to talk to a real estate attorney who can review any written contracts, agreements, and promissory notes that exist between your mom and the landlord. Land contracts are dangerous for both parties involved. Pull out the contract and look at it. She may need to have an attorney interpret it for her. In the meantime, a little kissing up to both the seller and the neighbor wouldn't hurt.
