Where can I view my grandmother's probated will?

My grandmother passed on May 22, 2007, before she passed she had left some money for me and two of my cousins. My family is not very good at communicating nor are they good giving money if they don't know you are aware that you are to receive it. So to avoid friction I've done some research around my house and have found the attorney that probated the will, the docket number and probate court number. Although I'm uncomfortable questioning the attorney about the matter. Also the will was probated on July 11, 2007. With my grandfather noted as the independent executor what does that mean? And what steps will I need to take to see a physical form of the probated will by other means then going to my grandfather on this matter?

Answers:
The original will should have been filed with the court when the probate was filed. You can look at a copy of it at the courthouse.

View Will at the local District Court where grandmother lived when she passed.
ask the attorney. If you are in the will, he has to disclose that to you.
The county Surrogate's office where the will is filed with the court.
Take grandpa out to lunch, while your gone with him, have a sibling pull it from under grandpas pillow and make a copy for you.
You need to go to the lawyer and the executor (grandfather) that means he is the one to shell out the $. So you will have to go to him...sorry. But that shouldn't matter your grandmother obviously wanted you to have the $ there is NO shame in that.
I'm not an expert, but I think that it typically takes months after probate for funds to be distributed. It's only been a couple of weeks.
The address of the court house should be in the phone book. The files are public record. Go there. See the clerk of the probate court. Ask to see the file on docket number ____. They will bring you the file and you can look at it. They will also copy things in the file for you, although they usually charge .50 to $1.00 per page. More for certified copies.
