Giving custody to grandparents?
Im 16 and I live in Ohio. I have lived with my Dad for 3 yrz but the school systems and family life here is horrible. We have too many people in a small house. My grandparents want custody of me, they live in south carolina, i want to live with them, and my dad is willing to let me go. What is the easiest quickest way to go about this whithout having to hire an attorney? It is all consented by everyone involved.
Answer:
You can consult with a lawyer (most will for free) but if all parties agree basically all that'd be required are paper's authorizing the grandparents to make decisions (medical or otherwise) on your behalf.
Just go.
If there is complete agreement, you can go to either your local courthouse or city hall, get the papers, fill them out, and turn them in. It's pretty simple. The only hard part will be finding the papers. Ask around and track them down.
Your dad can send you down there but your grandparents will have to get him to sign a notorized paper saying that he gives your grandparents the right to make decisions on your behalf as well as giving your grandparents the right to have you treated if you need medical care. The best way is to go to an attorney to do this but I know someone who did it the way I just said and it was fine.
he needs to drawn up a contract , saying his parents are held fully responsible for you at all time ,al l partys must sign it
