Should Tasers be banned?
Should Tasers be banned now that a Houston off duty police officer used one on a man holding a newborn infant? Should only specially trained police officers be allowed to carry them?

No, it's still better than the LAPD officer who shot through a toddler to end a standoff with her father last year.
But I do strongly support a rule that anybody who carries a taser has to take a hit with one, so they know exactly what kind of weapon they're wielding.
No, we have way too many bans now. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IS WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROSECUTE, SUE OR WHATEVER ELSE NEED TO BE DONE TO STUPID IDIOTS THAT OVERSTEP THE BOUNDS OF COMMON SENSE.

I think only specially trained police officers should only be allowed to carry them. It should also be use in certain situations. In this case I don't think the hospital guard should have used it on the father. I think he should have thought of a different way in handling the situation better.
NO WAY! I understand thtat there are idiots out there, but keep in mind, tasers are used as a non lethal alternative to shooting someone. IN my dad's day, in Cali, there was the "fleeing felons" rule. this meant that the officer could shoot a suspect that is fleeing the scene. Tasers are used now so that we can subdue a suspect without having to shoot them. If we eliminate the use of tasers, we eliminate the threat of force, hence suspects will feel like they might as well run for it. It sucks that someone tasered a man holding a baby, but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. What's next? "Stop!.Or I'll hurl many nasty and hurtful, but yet still politically correct, comments at you!"
That dumbass wasent even a real cop, hes about as real as a cop as the 16 year old "security guard" working at target. I dont think its the tazers fault, i think its the dumbass who was operateing it
Should flashlights be banned because someone can beat you to death with one? I don't know if the officer's actions were appropriate or not (I haven't checked your link yet). I do know if we banned everything that could be used to harm others, you would be using your bare hands to plant something for dinner next year.
