Why do men try to get out of paying child support for their children?

Answers:
I simply believe it is because the man want to have a no strings attached relationship...basically no relationship whatsoever and start off fresh with no responsibilities from previous decisions. It makes a man feel powerful when they think that way its not because of the money they just want to completely get out of the picture. They think of it like this if i'm married i have to pay and deal with head ache...if i'm divorced it's the same..sucks i know

I would love to hear the answer to this! I was one of the children who's mom did not get child support. I remember one apartment we lived in that I shared a room with my brother & sister. I received 1 new outfit each year when school started. When I was 15, I lied about my age so I could get a job.

I started paying my way at 15. I learned to be a hard worker, and I became very responsible with my money. I loaned my mom money for bills.

Anyway, now my father is trying to develop a relationship with me, 20 years later. It's really convenient that he's trying now that he doesn't have to pay my mom.

All these fathers are doing is causing problems to their children.
cause they (all them dead beat dads) are not worth a cent.

they are not ready for life and its consequences
I'm sure if you were to line up a hundred of these individuals you would get a hundred different answers and each of them would think it was a valid excuse. Fact is probably only one to two percent could justify their not supporting their children.

The only reason I know of is they are to much into themselves and if they had to release some of their money it would cut into their good times and their attempts to find some one else to have more children with.

I really like what the government is doing with the applications for passports. They are actually finding dead beat fathers and forcing them to catch up on support payments. The next step to finding all of them is when and if a National ID program starts up.
Immaturity and lack of responsibility.

When my parents split years ago, dad was on disability and receiving money for my younger brother who was a minor. He wouldn't send the money to mom to help buy him clothes, etc, so she turned him in. He turned around and divorced her after his check was cut and she started getting the money.

1) My dad was a deadbeat before he had his m/c accident which left him with permanent brain damage.

2) He knew right from wrong after the accident but didn't want to be the man of the house except to boss others around

My brothers never kept in touch with him, especially my older brother which dad picked on when he was growing up but I did call him and go see him occasionally, mainly because he was my dad, otherwise I probably would have cut all ties with him. Dad was a deadbeat, irresponsible, immature, self-centered jerk.

That's what any mother or father is if they treat their children with such disrespect, after all, those kids did not ask to be born and BOTH parents owe them the best of what they can give . mainly love and security which includes financial stability.
Some of the same reasons deadbeat moms try to get out of paying child support.
The courts took my sons away from their mother after she had custody for a few years and asked me to take them. She was making almost $60,000. a year, but it took my attorney and I almost 3 years just to get her in the court room for the support issue to be heard. She also spent a little over $6000. in attorney fees to try and get out of it, but it didn't work.
The main reason deadbeat parents don't pay? Anger and resentment towards the ex
Probably something about control. Or just being cheap.
Because it means they have to deal with someone they used too love and sometimes that's the hardest thing in life is watching the best thing get away. Maybe the best thing was too get away from it all whether good or bad times.
